i've perused the city of somerville website but haven't found any mention of this yet. how do i dispose of my xmas tree? is it ok to leave it out on the curb with the normal trash?

There isn't a community composting area? Maybe we should push for one.

I know, you don't compost brush, but a brush pile would most likely be found near a compost pile. And then once a year, the community compost coalition could convince a kindly company to donate a wood chipper for a day.

We did last year. I believe they chose a particular trash day and that day there were 3 trucks, garbage, recycling, and trees. It may well be after Epiphany, though. Lots of people don't take them down til after that.

we put ours out the first time garbage was collected after christmas, and just made sure to put it out the night beforehand so they'd pick it up, and everything was fine. i think leaving yours on the curb on trash day is fine.
