So I just went to DD on Main St in Medford to get my coffee as I was coming out the teamsters were setting up to give out free donuts... I didn't listen to the guy but it looks like there's a dispute and they're trying to eat into DDs profit.. If they really wanted to do that they would need coffee as well. Anyway none of the 7 or 8 teamsters were under 6' and they were all very intimating.

Searching google I found this...

Did they hand out any leaflets explaining what they were doing and trying to get public support? (The Shaw's strikers handled this quite well.)

I haven't been to DD since I found out Bain bought them. I'm not surprised there's a dispute.

Or fetishism. I mean, I'll date men of all heights, but you tell me there's a whole bunch of teamsters, nice big men all over six feet tall, and they're hanging out at Dunkin' Donuts in Medford, I suddenly find myself thinking 'oh, hey. Maybe I should go visit...'

Tall men are my redheads.

The Shaw's strike was about warehouse workers, not store workers, but I still respected it and stayed away from the store until they reached an agreement.

In this case, it sounds like there is not yet a strike, so I don't feel obliged to boycott DD. Still, I usually try to find a local alternative when I can. In West Medford, try Magnificent Muffin instead.

jadelennox: A farmer and a factory worker over "Unions: still fighting!" (labor: still fighting)

People in the shipping facilities are still DD workers.

Usually people in different segments of an industry (retail employees, shippers, etc) have different contracts and are often in different unions. If they're all union but different unions, usually one union will respect the strike of another union at the same business.

This

When I want to improve my standard of living I work harder, find a new job, get a new marketable skill, refinance loans to lower rates, cut back on wasteful spending or otherwise increase my value in the marketplace or decrease my personal expenses.
