Tufts Film Series Schedule Fall 2010
Sep. 8th, 2010 09:36 amTufts Film Series is back in business for the semester and they have posted their schedule of free films at their blog:
http://www.tuftsfilmseries.com/schedule/
Films this semester include Iron Man 2, Kick-Ass, Date Night, Inception, Despicable Me and Toy Story 3.
TFS films are free and open to the public (only exceptions would be if our presence prevents Tufts students from seeing a film -- hasn't happened yet). All screen in Barnum Room 08, which is the back entrance to Barnum, across from the Fletcher School and closest to the President's House.
Films and schedule are subject to change. Usual pattern for films is:
Film 1: Friday 7 pm; Saturday 9:30 pm; Saturday midnight
Film 2: Friday 9:30 pm; Saturday 7 pm; Sunday 8 pm
I will post schedule updates to my Google calendar. You can also find specific times on the TFS blog and on Tuftslife.com. Actual schedule may not be finalized until Weds. or Thurs. of each week.
Be warned that there will be technical problems (one of the projectors is out of order right now), sound and projection issues, late student projectionists and cancellations without notice. Student viewers can also be a bit rude and you can expect to see the glow of multiple smart phones during the course of each film (sometimes a call during the movie -- but rarely). Remembering that you are seeing the film for free may ease your frustrations.

Date: 2010-09-09 02:30 pm (UTC)The technical issues are pretty much a given with this series and I've had to leave when the sound problems made it impossible to understand the dialogue. They have to change the reels in the middle right now which means a five minute break in the middle of the screening. Not enough to scare me away, but I figure people should be warned. More than a few times audiences members have had to go to the booth to bring a problem to the projectionist's attention.
