Please help!

I was just hired to a new job and need some 'business casual' and 'semiformal' clothes for a gathering TONIGHT. Is there a place in the davis area that can help me out (and leave me an arm and a leg, money wise?)

Basically I need a good solid pair of well-fitting khakis and some nice shoes.

The meeting is tonight -- any help or suggestions would be mucho appreciated.

There is a Goodwill on Elm Street in Davis Sq.

You can usually find stuff like that at Goodwill in Davis. Just iron it nicely and nobody will know it's second-hand. :-) Also try Poor Little Rich Girl around the corner on Highland. I think they also carry men's used clothing.

There's a Gap in Porter, which isn't the cheapest thing ever but it's not horrible, either. Porter also has a Burlington Coat Factory. Not sure about shoes; I don't think there are any shoe stores right near by. You might need to go to Harvard (The Tannery) or Central (a Payless, among other things).

black and blues is far too expensive for a decent pair of khakis. if you can get the bus to target, they have nice enough khakis fairly cheap.

Clothing stores are thin on the ground in Davis, Poor Little Rich Girl does consignment clothes but only for women, I think. You're probably gonna have to try the Cambridgeside Galleria (the 88 and 87 buses run there from Davis) or the Gap in Harvard Square or something. There's also a Burlington Coat Factory in Porter but it's pretty crappy.

I dunno about "crappy," more "crap shoot" in my experience. Occasionally I've found some very nice stuff there for cheap.

I'm not in your area, but I've bought some really nice stuff at the Burlington Coat Factory in my area for cheap.
I have a pair of Tommy Hilfiger(SP) slacks on right now I got from there for $25.00. The original tag that's on there said $69.

I believe they sell shoes there too...

This may be too late for the original poster, but someone else might find it useful on some other day. The Garment District in Kendall Square is a HUGE consignment shop. They have lots of secondhand clothes for men and women, including formal, business-causal, casual, and costumes.
