TUESDAY, 8 MARCH 2005
Zeitgeist Gallery
1353 Cambridge Street
Inman Square, Cambridge
617/876.6060
7pm | all ages | $12
This innovative benefit for the film The Ballad of Burd Janet recreates an old-time radio show, with skits and music galore.
A staging of Arch Oboler's "Revolt of the Worms" will serve as the evening's centerpiece. The play tells the story of a botanist obsessed with growing the perfect rose who invents a hormone formula that, when poured into the ground, has a startling effect on worm physiology. Local actors Rob O'Dwyer (of the Buck Dewey Big Band), Juliet Bowler (from the movie alt.sex), Richard Wright (local theatre actor) and Matt Wolpe -- along with foley artist Matt Samolis -- will bring this play to life.
Comedian and consummate ukelele player Craig Robertson will help the evening along with his wit and musical agility, with some help from Karen Langlie.
A great time will be had by all, and I cannot more strongly encourage you to attend!
