A CSA (community supported agriculture) share is a weekly box of fresh/delicious/natural veggies (and sometimes meat/fish) delivered by local farms to convenient pickup spots within our community. Shareholders purchase their shares before the season begins -- which helps farmers when they need cash the most, to get their crops going. A typical share lasts 20 weeks from June through October, and costs $30 per week for 12-15 pounds of produce ($2-2.50 per pound).
