We separate Basics into Women's and Men's. The physical skills are the same, but some of the conversation is different. We can certainly do mixed gender classes (offices and schools hire us to do gender neutral workshops) but we are always working to see what separations make people most comfortable. T
he LGBTQ class is a result of this, and it's a mixed gender class. I can't say too much about how it differs, because it's only happened twice before and it's ad hoc, with enough people expressing interest to warrant constructing a class, rather than scheduling a class and having it fill.
We want to get a LGBTQ class together this summer, but the people who are interested need it to be more T accessible than our space in Malden and as yet we don't have a (free/cheap) venue for it. If YOU can recommend a venue for a weekend class, please do :)
Ultimately I hope you would feel equally comfortable in a Women's class as in LGBTQ, because the goal is for students to learn the IMPACT skills in a safe and positive environment.
