DRAMA CAMP: AUGUST 22 – SEPTEMBER 1 FOR CHILDREN AGES 8-12!
Love to act?
Come to Camp Center Stage, and participate in a production of James and the Giant Peach! A boy and his giant insect friends go on a journey inside a peach, traveling through oceans and countrysides, skies and cities. We will play acting games, build sets, and rehearse every day, culminating in a performance September 1! Every camper will have a significant role in the performance, involving acting, memorizing lines, and singing (if they would like). Furthermore, kids in Parts and Crafts, the camp downstairs will be working with insects and growing things to tie in with our play, as well as helping us with costumes and set. Expect hard work with gratifying results!
When? August 22-September 1 from 9 AM to 3 PM
Where? Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church, near Tufts University and Teele Square in Somerville
With whom? We are partnering and sharing a space with Parts and Crafts
How much? $540 for both weeks with sliding scale options available--feel free to ask!
Who we are: We are Molly Katz-Christy, Erica Jaquith, and Jenny Vernick, three teenagers with experience in childcare and acting. We are all CPR/First Aid certified. Molly has been a CIT at Passport summer camp for two summers, is an instructor in training at Community Boating, and has a background in babysitting. Erica has been a unicycling instructor for Open Air Circus, taken care of children at parties, and babysat for many years. They have both been in many operas and cantatas with North Cambridge Family Opera, and plays with Arlington Children's Theatre, All-City Drama, and CRLS. Jenny has been a CIT at Passport summer camp for 7 years, babysat, and loves kids!
