We live on the east side of Medford, about a mile from Medford Square. On the off chance that one of y'all might live (or know) someone over here...

My special-needs son got a Kidizoom Plus camera from my parents on his sixth birthday, August 13.

This morning, I found that the camera had been stolen out of my car, on our driveway, inside a townhouse (not gated) complex parking lot. My car had been rifled through (nothing taken) before; I'd been making absolutely certain to make sure to lock and alarm the car, make sure that anything that looked tempting was out of the car... but of course, the one night I forgot, the one important and removable thing in the car (other than the child seats) was taken. (Interestingly, the tinted safety glasses that I use as sunglasses worn over my regular glasses were not taken, and they don't actually look nerdy.)

I am, as you might imagine, infuriated with myself, infuriated with the person who took what was clearly a child's camera (a blue Kidizoom Plus WITH A NAME WRITTEN ON IT), and worried about the fact that people are casually walking through our parking lot trying doors. What if it had been the house door?

Anyway. If you find a blue Kidizoom Plus with a six-letter name written on it in silver pen, please let me know! No questions asked unless you think it would be a good idea.

I can't offer a reward other than cookies.

Edit: I just called the desk officer at the Medford Police, and he said I could file a report when I get home from work (in Newton). When I, looking for sympathy, said "who would take a camera that clearly belongs to a child?" he said "For heroin." (As in, to be sold for.) When I expressed surprise that there was a heroin problem in Medford, he said that it's the highest per capita in the state. Which sucks, because the schools have the best special needs program of anywhere we can afford to live.

Edit 8/29: Embarrassingly, it turns out that my son just put it in his tricycle basket. Leaving the post here because of the comments.
