Someone dug up most of my pansies today. Don't know why they left a few, but they did. To some this might not be a big deal, nor worthy of a post, but I'm really pissed and hurt; moreso than when my tire got slashed last month. In the 5 years I've lived in Davis, this past year has been the worst, crime-wise. I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to be done with you, Somerville.

To the flower-stealer, if you're reading this: I hope someone spits on your grave one day. You tresspassed, you stole, you pissed on my favorite hobby, you worsened the neighborhood.

(I'm a nice person who doesn't like to be full of virtriol, so if you put the flowers back, I'll reverse your karmic damage.)

That's just terrible that somebody stole your flowers. I know it happens periodically around the neighborhood, and I can't imagine what kind of person could enjoy an ornamental plant they stole from someone else's yard. So many people create beautiful yards for all of us to enjoy when we walk or bike past (especially appreciated by those of us who don't do much with our own yards due to lack of landscaping talent), and I hate to hear that yours has been violated.

I hope you won't give up on Davis. :-(

This happened to the whisky barrels in front of our church a lot last year, on College AVe. I thought about trying to channel someone with infinitely more compassion and virtue than myself and put out free extra flowers for them to take instead of uprooting our marigolds, etc. Thought it might guilt them into leaving ours be. haven't tried it yet, though.

someone stole my hand truck from my driveway about 2 weeks ago. Somehow, I found it insult to injury that whoever it was slashed the ropes that had tied it up, rather than untying it. Crime sucks.

I'm not a nice person, so I will hate them for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your pansies, that's just ridiculous. :( You're welcome to come steal mine. It'd probably be best before my lack of a green thumb accidently kills them. ;)

ick. That's just obnoxious that someone would do that... :-(

My next-door neighbor who is doing some remodelling was
complaining to me yesterday that a bunch of potted
plants she'd just brought over to her new house
got stolen off her front porch. I guess I'll
need to be more careful about what I leave out-front,
or even what I plant.

Geez, that's awful - I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. We're about to do some planting ourselves and it's just disappointing to hear people can be so awful.

That's terrible!
I can't believe that someone would do that! Well, sadly, actually, I can believe it.
I had my wallet stolen out of my bag while I was a job search place. It sucks to be robbed.
