Thank you Davis Square!

As many of you know Gargoyles restaurant has recently closed after 16 great years. For most of those years I have been behind the bar trying to serve as a good host, mixologist, and friend. I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone in the Davis community that I will always be grateful for the great company you have provided me, and the Gargoyles staff over the years.

They closed after Sunday night, sadly. I called yesterday and was told, "We were planning on being open until the 20th, but we ran out of food and staff last night."

Gargoyles Afterlife on Facebook

I had been told when I went in on Thursday, and subsequently got the email about it, that there is a "Gargoyles Afterlife" page on Facebook that will provide updates on the Gargoyles gang. (I'm not on FB though, and don't want to join, so I can't get the details - I know, I'm the last person on earth to not be on FB, but I am stubborn that way.)

So sad... I will especially miss the Davis Square Trolley. I was also hoping to go in one last time, but got the email yesterday about Sunday being their last night. Bummer.

I'm not a resident of the Davis Square or even Boston area, but whenever I visited recently, I always made sure to eat at least once at Gargoyles. You folks will be missed even from the West Coast.

Sunday was their "customer appreciation" night. Tuesday was their "staff and former staff appreciation." They're now officially closed. Those who want to know what is coming next can visit the "Gargoyles afterlife" page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/218717881515465/.
