Maybe Caning Shoppe? He might work on wooden chairs too.

I had a wooden chair repaired and fixed up at Sunshine Lucy's, on Holland. Not cheap, but it's a big chair that had to be taken apart entirely and rebuilt. They managed to give an accurate estimate from photos I brought in of the damage, though, so you'll know what you're getting into. (Also, they did the work quickly and very well, and even fixed some bad gouges to the arms at no extra charge.)

If you go there, note that they have moved to a much smaller storefront further east on Elm Street, next to Big Fish Little Fish.

ETA: here's an old post on the same subject.

Try Toni & Ana's (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Toni-and-Anas-Furniture/156415871070081) near Powderhouse—I believe they do some repair work.

Anything I felt sentimental about, I'd take to Village Green Renewal (http://www.greenbrookline.com/).

I second this recommendation! I bought a chair from them and have been very pleased with their service.
