Parking lot at Spring & Summer?

There's a parking lot across the street from St. Catherine's on Summer Street, on the corner with Spring Street (very poetic!). It seems to be at least half empty most of the time, particularly at night. What I'm wondering is if it's safe to tell friends to park there if we need "overflow" parking for a few cars and don't want to get a special event permit (which relies on there being spots on the street available in the first place, of course). Does anyone have experience parking in that lot? Do they tow or ticket?

I've no idea, but it might be worth calling St. Catherine's and asking. I did that once when I lived across the street from an elementary school and needed overflow parking for a party.

Also, I think you need a new "house" icon. :-)

Have you asked our mutual friends who live more or less around the corner from you? I vaguely recall that they use it for just that.

They use a different lot on Belmont (which is partly what gave me the idea).

I think that's the same lot, that connects through. Unless you're talking about a different church entirely.

I know that Agassiz preschool (http://www.agassizpreschool.org/parent-zone/where-to-park) that moved in there last year really wanted to be able to use that lot for parents dropping off and picking up kids, but the church did not allow them to, so I imagine that there might be issues if you parked there too.

I know that technically the bigger lot behind the church (on Belmont) is rented out to the nursing school, and they do tow occasionally if you don't have a nursing school sticker/card thingie. I don't know what they do when there are church services, though. But you probably don't want to park there then anyway.

Where is this lot on Belmont, and when is it available to anyone?
