Seeking Housemates
May. 21st, 2005 06:05 pmTwo rooms available to rent in beautiful, large, single-family,
four-bedroom house, one in July and one in September. Rent per room is
$600 plus utilities (approx. $100/mo). The first floor is entirely
common space, including a living room, dining room, and eat-in
kitchen. There are two bathrooms, a porch, a dishwasher, and free
laundry in the house. We come equipped with two cats, a Tivo, and
wireless, broadband internet. The rooms are larger than most bedrooms
in the area, and have fully-operational ceiling fans. Ample off-street
parking is included. The house comes with a private, fenced yard. We
are 15 minutes walk to davis, 90 seconds drive to I-93, and four
blocks to Tufts.
Seeking substance-free, lifestyle-friendly professionals or graduate
students; preference to people interested in renting for more than one
year.

Date: 2005-05-22 12:01 am (UTC)Ummm...Perhaps I became an ancient curmudgeon at some point.
But unless you can be certain that everybody else shares what you mean by "substance" and "lifestyle", you might want to be a little more specific. Bondage in the living room, no beer?

Date: 2005-05-22 12:09 pm (UTC)I guess I've become so used to seeing such amusingly specific roommate ads ("must be queer/bi/poly friendly, no illegal drugs, tobacco okay on the back porch, antidepressants taken as a matter of course) that yours stood out for its seeming vagueness!

Date: 2005-05-22 10:00 pm (UTC)I'm sure that for members of The Lifestyle, that particular Lifestyle is clearly the only Lifestyle in existence. No need to specify if it's the macrobiotic-vegetarian lifestyle, the Polyamorous-bisexual Lifestyle, the Christian-evangelical-heterosexual-monogamous Lifestyle, the Gorian-submission Lifestyle or the Let's-wear-black-to-Manray-on-Friday-and-dance-like-maniacs Lifestyle.
As for the other parameter, I'm looking forward to watching the season finale of "Desperate Housewives" tonight. That's pretty much substance-free.
