They were like, 80% of the parade! It was mind-boggling! And they sure did have some neat toys :)

Did anyone take pictures? I didn't make it down for the parade. :-(

I was "all the what?" too- and am not quite sure I've got it now.

As you can't mean the city in Syria, nor the lemurs that hail therefrom...

You'd mean "aleppo shriners oriental marching band" ? Who are from Wilmington MA, so this could work... They must be quite something. DO tell about the toys...

I knew I shoulda stayed up on Highland to watch it. Almost got towed actually...

i took a ton of pictures last year, the aleppos were there last year as well. i found them slightly creepy, they take up so much of the parade! who are they, exactly? what do they do besides the hospital stuff? they seem like a relic of a different era.

from my house it definitely looked like a smaller parade and a smaller turnout than last year.

I did a google image search for "aleppos" and got a lot of childlike drawings apparently created by someone while in a state mental hospital. I kid you not. Maybe it wasn't so bad that I missed the parade after all...

Whoah indeed!

THAT is pretty darn funny... in less of a ha-ha kinda way, lol

btw, I wanna grab your icon to send to a cat-loving associate, if I may. It won't get used as their icon, promise... unless that's ok?
Where is it from, and am I missing that maybe it has sound in original form??

The link, fwiw

this year there were maybe five or six marching bands, but last year there were maybe a dozen? plus the clydesdale horses were there last year (as you'll see in my photos). also, i think the city made a major effort to revive the parade last year (before that it was much smaller, i guess?), so i wonder if this year their efforts fizzled out a little bit.
