Eastern Bank robbed this morning

according to Boston.com, Eastern Bank was robbed this AM by a man with no gun or note who "verbally demanded cash".

I wonder if this has anything to do with power being out in that bank and in A. Falafel this afternoon? (What the link could be is hard to say).

no gun? what was he going to do if they didn't give him money? hold his breath until they did?

I think there's a specific reason not to bring a gun: robbing a bank with a gun carries a much larger penalty than just robbing a bank -- and bank tellers are taught to just give over the money when someone asks for it, as far as I know. (Since it's all insured well beyond what a teller would have in the drawer, there's no incentive for the bank to *not* cooperate with bank robbers...)
