September & October bike events in and near Somerville

I posted a long list of local bicycle events to the bostoncycling LJ community. The list includes events in Somerville and several surrounding municipalities.

Since that post is long and has lots of links, I'm going to refer you to it rather than posting a second copy here. Please join bostoncycling if you are interested in bicycle events.

I will plug here three Somerville events that the Bicycle Committee is specifically involved with:

• Somerville Arts Council's Spokes 2012 festival, in Union Square on September 8, from 5-9 pm
• Tasting Tour of Somerville, immediately preceding Spokes 2012 at 3 pm 2:30 pm
• Edge of the City Tour, our 20th annual Tour de Somerville, October 13, meeting at 10 am in Seven Hills Park

Hah I don't know what just happened! Clicked through to poke around at your links, and now I'm signed up to maybe volunteer at the TD Bank Mayor's Cup race thing. Thanks, I think?

This (https://www.raceit.com/Register/?event=10851) is to volunteer mostly at the Hub on Wheels ride, but you pick which category of volunteer you want to be, and the last one is for the crit.

Also the 8th Annual Boston Bike Film Festival on October 12th. It's outgrown its original location and is now at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA. Social hour (silent auction, light bites from Redbones, and cash bar) starts at 7 PM; films start at 8 PM. We have some great entries so far - the deadline is September 1st if you have a cycling movie to share.
