A reminder: Red Line service between Harvard and Alewife will be replaced with buses all day Saturday and Sunday for the next four weekends, because of the Floating Slab repair project.
heh, the mbta has the weekends wrong. the link says "During the weekends of November 17-18, 2012, November 24-25, 2012, December 1-2, 2012, and December 1-2, 2012, MBTA work crews will be removing and replacing corroded concrete slabs as part of a project partially funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.".
December 1-2, twice? I'm sure they mean the second weekend in December, but amusing they need proofreaders.
Well, at least it's not the ENTIRE Holiday shopping season this time *grump* They did this last year at the same time and I'm not sure how much it hurt Davis, but I'm sure it had some effect, and again, this year, right during the holiday season. Seems unfair.
It sucks, but I'd rather go four weekends without than get stuck in a broken-down train for hours (or worse). Seems like there's not much they can do differently, and I appreciate that they chose four weekends before *real*, freezing-cold winter and before the holidays. Just curious, is this the same project they shut down for last year?
