This might be silly but what is "odd numbered side of the street"?

Just trying to get my roommates car to a safe space before the snow goes down...

Thanks!

Look at the house numbers on the streets.

The side with odd house numbers, or the side with even house numbers.

The side with houses numbered 1, 3, 5, etc.

yeah, but better to ask than to pay. I bet you weren't the only one wondering.

rather than a new thread, this seems a good spot for another question: I see lots of folks parking cars in the entry to their driveways, even if there is space available deeper in the driveway, on the even side. In several cases, it's _maybe_ close enough to the street to get clipped by a plow. Surely there isn't widespread plow-baiting, so why park a car there instead of deep in the driveway?

The only thing I can think of is that it's an attempt to prevent "plow-in" but it doesn't look like it'd be all that helpful, plus your car might get it's rear end hit by a plow.

It's to minimize the length of driveway necessary to excavate to get the car out later.

Oh, so folks can leave 50% of their driveway unshoveled. Gotcha.

Does that mean the cars are parked across the sidewalk? Anyone who does that should be towed.
