Cellphone reception survey

Hi all,

I am looking to get feedback from folks about your cellphone reception in Somerville. Mine at my apartment is absolutely horrible.

Please give feedback- good and bad- about your service, providing an address/approximate area, cell phone, and service.

I switched to Verizon from Cingular because I couldn't even get reception anywhere in my old apartment. The only times I've had problems with reception are when I'm below ground (say, on the T)--but that's to be expected.

I've got a Nokia 3650 on T-Mobile and I've never had problems anywhere in Somerville. I live in East Somerville, but I use my phone around Davis and Porter all the time.

The Diesel (except the new back portion) is a dead zone for me with T-Mobile.

I haven't had any problems with Verizon anywhere in the general area.

Verizon, using an LG phone, reception is no problem between Davis and Powderhouse.

i've never had problems with reception with Verizon and an older LG and i use it all over Cambridge, Somerville, Boston and the north shore.

Verzion, LG camera phone, no problems in the area, EVER. 2 times I had weak but usable signals was in Oklahoma, and Situate Harbor.

I'm octupling comments at this point, but I've had Verizon for four years or so and have never had any problems in any of Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Everett, and Charlestown.

I switched from Sprint to Verizon because of repeated "network unavailable" messages with Sprint.
Samsung phone with both companies, Inman Square area.

My phone worked when I Was up in Buckfield, Maine, this past weekend... so, yeah.

Verizon has the most coverage, period.

Sprint works great, even in the back of the Diesel. I have a Samsung i300.

Really? Wow! I'm on T-Mobile with a Handspring Treo, and I can't get signal for most of the length of Elm St, or in either Diesel or Redbone's.

I had Sprint. It worked fine in Somerville, but if I went anywhere else...dead zones. There were so many places Sprint didn't work I switched.

I got Verizon. Works good everywhere I go.

i have nextel and it's like there's a black hole lingering around city hall and the high school...usually i have very little reception there, if not, no signal whatsoever.

I've had good signal in my apartments in Teele Sq, Norris St. Cherry St. and Craigie St.

Verizon seems to have the coverage.
