paint donations

Does anyone know definitively who will take donations for spare paint, stain, or polyeurthane?
(If YOU want various colours of blue, gray, purple, red, off-white of Behr paint, or polyshades stain in pecan, mahogany or old maple, please let me know tonight or by tomorrow morning--they all have to be gone by tomorrow night.)

Ok, excellent. And you've probably already seen half the colours too. There's mostly half gallons or quarts left, so probably not enough to do a full room with all the walls the same.

Tell you what: Since you know where the house is, I'm going to leave all the paint on the porch in case it's convenient for you to look at what you want tonight. Any cans that are unlidded are drying out so i can put them in the trash, because they're very, very old. Take what you want, and then the rest can get disposed of in a way that someone else may suggest here later.

i don't want to barter :) i just found out that the person buying my house does NOT want any of the interior paint--and the closing is in 2 days. then i leave town. i have nothing to give but well wishes and air kisses.

i'm fairly sure that my old living room had the same shade of purple as (some?) of the walls at your old place; do you recall if the name of the color was Gothic Amethyst? if so, we can give Ro & Kaz enough to combine forces and do a whole room.

Behr seems to change the names of their paint a lot, so the actual paint code would have to be compared. I think it was called Royal Viking or something like that. I left out some glaze too, which can make paint go a little further, if they're willing to be creative.

Saturday July 9 is Hazardous Waste Day at the DPW. You can bring any paint etc. you have left over there from 9 am to Noon. Takes place the second Saturday of each month.

DPW Yard, 1 Franey Road. Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00
OPEN TO RESIDENTS WITH REASONABLE QUANTITY OF WASTE (AMOUNT MUST FIT IN A NORMAL PASSENGER CAR TRUNK).
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS: paints, thinners, cleaners, motor oil, antifreeze, mercury thermometers, car batteries, fluorescent bulbs/tubes.
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Asbestos, photo chemicals, heating oil, any large quantity that could be determined as commercial waste.

chair is in good condition. black. looks sort of like a normal wheeled office chair (no arms) except it's tallish to start with, and adjustable higher. but you're tall! I'm going to MD for most of the summer, then travelling, and then .. still haven't decided. let me know if you can pick it up tomorrow. i might be able to bring it to you, but time is *really* tight for me, with one day left. ugh.

thanks for this. good timing for me, as a last resort. the environmentalist in me has made all of this much harder, trying to responsibly dispose of things. i hate usable stuff going in a landfill, or even being recycled when they could be reused. fortunately i've had to throw out very little, as someone so far has managed to find a use for the things i can't keep or store.

all is not lost. worst comes to worse i can leave it in the car, or put it in our apartment until fri or sometime on the weekend. i'll try to get a picture of it today and email you, so you can be sure you want it.
