Have you tried the pizzarias and corner stores closest to the schools you're interested in? There's a variety of such stores across the street from Cambridge Rindge and Latin; I don't know if any allow fliers, but worth checking out.
Are there any community bulletin boards at the local athletic fields? e.g. Conway Park, Russell Athletic Field, Dilboy Field & Stadium, the one by Ball Square whose name is eluding me at the moment. Sports venues attract not just kids, but their parents.
Also, quite aside from fliering, have you considered paying for ads in school publications (e.g. school newspapers, programs for theater events, yearbooks)?
