Nextdoor is a social networking site that is based around physical neighborhoods. It got discussed a bit here when it was first launched in the area. One of the things that people noticed as a big drawback was that the neighborhoods were small and their boundaries were strange.
Well, that hasn't changed. ;-) But they have implemented a new "nearby neighborhoods" feature which allows you to see posts from the surrounding area if you want (you can decide which of the neighborhoods you're interested in). For instance, as a member of the Powderhouse neighborhood, these are my nearby hoods:

There aren't a huge number of people there (about 80 in my neighborhood) or a lot of traffic, but I think this new feature could be very helpful for an area like ours. Nextdoor will never replace DSLJ, of course! But it could be another good place to post curb alerts, lost pet notices, and so on.
