Can't help you myself (though I'm very jealous!), but I was thinking that you might ask the people at Gather Here over in Cambridge either for suggestions or contacts, rather than the Singer store in Davis. Gather Here has been responsive to me when I've contacted them by email as well as being friendly in the store.
