Does anyone know of a good place to get a car wash around here? I'm just looking for something reasonable priced and thorough, but nothing fancy. It's just for the outside. I'm looking at the salt on my car and imagining the corrosion taking place. I didn't see anything tagged in the archives, so I'm sorry if this has already been discussed.

Always been happy with the Somerville Car Wash down at Elm St & Somerville Ave. http://www.seeyoushine.com/

my personal favorite is

Titan Gas & Car Wash
590 Boston Ave
Medford, MA 02155

the drive through one is great, but also they have bays where you wash your own that are open late (if not 24h) which was very helpful one night when my car was egged!

I use the self-serve vacuums there as well -- useful with small kids!

I second the recommendation for Titan. Also, I think they still give you a deal on a drive-through car wash if you get gas first.

Yeah, it's a $4 wash if you get at least five gallons of gas. Their gas prices tend to be pretty good, too. I did our monthly fill there yesterday (we don't drive much) and was thinking about doing the wash but I wasn't sure about a wash on such a cold day.

Yes, and for an extra $2 they will spray a wax coat on the underside of your car to ward off salty corrosion there, too.

Just a reminder if you wash your car and it's freezing outside. You might want to go out to your car after it's been sitting an hour or so in freezing temps and crack/reclose all windows, doors and trunk. It's never fun to attempt to enter a frozen shut car, especially if it's newly washed!
