Do you need a reliable, awesome pet sitter?

Hi folks! I just wanted to put myself out there to those who may need my services at any time. I have 10 years' experience looking after other people's pets and a general love for anything fuzzy and warm blooded. The majority of my experience is with cats, but I've also looked after rats (I have friends involved with Mainely Rat Rescue), dogs (so far just small and medium sizes, but I'd love the opportunity to look after large breeds as well!), and guinea pigs.

Things to consider before hiring me: I have a physical disability which prohibits me from safely handling excessive leash tugging, and cleaning medium and large size cages. I also, sadly, cannot take animals into my home or do overnights, as I have a cat of my own who needs love and attention and does not get along with other animals.

Oh huzzah, I have been looking for an occasional sitter for my adorable adult male rat, Midnight! Mostly I'm good but I could use some #'s for vacations and such, especially over the summer when I'll need a sitter perhaps every other weekend or once monthly for travel. (I wouldn't though, for the record, call the same person every time...you'd be on a list and I'd try to rotate evenly the best I can, but it's really good to know you have experience with Mainely Rat Rescue! I love them.) :-)

I can vouch for Zander as being excellent and very trustworthy. He's been watching my cats for about three years now. He's reliable and our cats love him. I appreciate knowing that there's someone who I can trust with a key to come into my apartment to take care of the cats when I'm out of town.

I do not yet, but I can do some research on how to properly care for them. I'm always interested in looking after different kinds of animals - so long as they're not insects, arachnids, or reptiles (nothing personal against reptiles, I just don't trust myself to handle them properly).

Ok sure! Thanks! Unfortunately my own schedule of childcare (I'm a nanny), college, art and activism is highly-unpredictable, particularly over the summer. The most notice I could give is a week or two, but you're of course always welcome to turn it down if you're not available or are sick or even just stressed/busy. I'd just keep moving down the list in that case. Can you email me with your contact info? Cell # would be ideal, and that would give me your email address also, but also do you have Facebook? I mod a local skillshare community on Facebook where, and I hope you don't mind, I posted your ad. I also have posted my own "petsitter wanted" ad there, which has a picture of me and Midnight and more detailed description of what I'm looking for. It would be a good space to promote your services further in the future as well, since posts eventually get lost at the bottom. :)

I'm always happy to have word of mouth spread! Thank you! Don't stress about having a hectic schedule. Summer's a busy time for a lot of people. It looks like you'll have to email (or PM) me, though, because I don't know your email address and LJ will not let me PM you.
