Oh jeez. :( I once had good luck finding a bag I'd left on the T by calling the MBTA's lost and found. If it fell out when you were on the bus (sounds likely--that's happened to me once), you might give them a call. Let them know the route, the station where you got on, and the time, and they should be able to identify which bus it was, and check. Good luck.
