With ABJ out of business, we find ourselves in need of a good mechanic who knows Subarus. Who's got one?

Consider Hondar House?? I note from this critics site linked below 2 entries that said they did pleasing work for bigger Subarus(a Forester, a Legacy)
I confirm they do great with older Toyotas.
And, waah, we lost ABJ? Sorry to be presumably so late to the party, but when did it happen?

Last time they were going out of business, 2 of the mechanics said they were likely to move to the gas station around the corner from ABJ.

Hey, I saw a post on Somerville Moms that ABJ will re-open at the same location!

Over the years, my husband's parents, and my husband and I, have had our cars Dudley Automotive in Arlington. They've been servicing our Subaru Legacy wagon for the past 9-10 years.

Try Good News Garage in Cambridge. I've been there with a friend, and they seem to fix every car brand known to man, and the service is terrific.

Hondar House screwed me over on a Subaru repair -- told me it was fixed, I trustingly paid them a significant chunk of change, and drove away and it was clear in several blocks that it wasn't fixed at all.

I should have gone back immediately and complained loud and long but I had to drive out of state that day.

They never made good on either taking the car back to figure out what was really wrong, or refunding my money.

Mike's Automotive in Union Square has done some expert work on my Subaru Forester that I'm really satisfied with. Mike (and co.) will also take the time to patiently explain what is wrong and the options available to fix it.

(He also brought out the dented oil pan to show me just what had been happening inside the engine, not because I was suspicious but because I was interested.)
