I'm not completely sure what kind of tradesperson I'm looking for. Maybe a roofer.

Our dryer currently vents into the attic, which is bad in itself, and is also blocking a bigger project. I suspect the best solution is to vent it through the roof. There aren't any vertical walls accessible from there. (There is a sort of hollow overhang that might just barely accommodate a vent pipe, but it would come out at a weird angle that the external wall vents aren't designed for, and it would involve cutting through some wood that I suspect is our bedroom wall/ceiling.)

So, who's the right person to do this?

Other options might be to cut multiple holes in walls and run the pipe through our living space, or to move the washer/dryer to a less convenient location. I'm not very in favor of either.

I had the exact same problem in my condo and Dryer Vent Wizards (http://www.dryerventwizard.com/) was able to resolve it - there were a lot of weird angles involved and they had to include a booster fan, but they did manage it. They were incredibly prompt and professional and did very good work. Definitely give them a call for a consultation to see what they can do.

Depending on length of your roof overhang, you could try venting through soffit. Kind of a pain but nice in that difficult to ever get a leak from it.
