Traffic on Elm will resume soon

Jersey barriers are being put up around 240 Elm and pedestrians are already being allowed to walk on the other side of Elm. Of the businesses across a street from the building, only Diva and maybe Redbones are still closed. I just got a 311 call saying Elm reopens at 9pm and Chester might reopen tomorrow.

Of the businesses on the north side of Elm, only Meju was open when I walked by just now. Everything else from Family Dollar to Christo's Pizza was still closed.

Hello, this is Jackie Rossetti from the City of Somerville with important updates regarding the partial closure of Elm St.

At approximately 9 p.m. tonight, one lane of vehicle travel will reopen on Elm St. Additionally, sidewalks will be accessible for pedestrians and, with the exception of those businesses located at the corner of Chester St., businesses along Elm St. may reopen at that time. A review will be conducted on Chester St. on Wed. morning to determine whether to reopen Chester St. As of the time that the lane on Elm St. is open, traffic patterns in Davis Sq. will return to normal. Thank you for your patience during this public safety concern in Davis Sq.
