I hated going in there for exactly this reason. The intensely harsh lighting and the huge windows made me feel like all of Porter Square was watching me buy Metamucil.
And yes, every time I went in there, the line was bizarrely slow, even with only one or two people in line.
Combine those with a lousy parking situation and way too much floor space dedicated to food and Boston souvenirs, and I didn't expect the place to last, sadly.
