[X-posted to other communities, forgive the repetition]
I'm searching for a GLBT-friendly [and poly-friendly] roommate to
share a gorgeous 3br apartment near Davis Square, starting sometime
between August 1st and September 1st (flexible move-in date). I've
found one new roommate so far; we're in need of one more to share the
space and complete a sociable, geeky and creative (and tolerant!)
household. Maybe you're the one?
The space:
-3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. One bedroom is going to be available.
There is enough space for a couple to take it. The bedroom
gets plenty of sun, has a good amount of closet space, and is pretty big.
-Large sunny living room, dining room and kitchen.
-Conveniently located across the street from Tufts University, and a
10-minute walk to Davis Square T station. Also across the street from
a bus stop serviced by routes 80, 94, and 96. (94 and 96 go to Davis
Square if you aren't up to walking!)
-Lots of convenient street parking.
-Pet friendly! I have a gentle, sweet, medium sized dog who is
restricted to certain areas of the apartment. Other well behaved small
to medium sized dogs are welcome (pending landlord approval, but there
shouldn't be a problem) and pets in tanks or cages are fine. A cat
might be fine if it stays in the areas where my dog does not go. He
tries to play with cats and they generally don't appreciate it.
-Lots of storage space! There are many, many, closets both inside
bedrooms and in the halls. Basement storage space is also available.
-Free laundry in the basement
-Front and back porches
-Backyard with space for gardening.
-Rent is 700 a month per person for 3 people. This does not include
utilities, but we get pretty good heat efficiency. Rent per person is
somewhat negotiable if someone is willing to pitch in and do extra
housework or if there ends up being more than three of us.
Sarah:
(currently a resident)
I'm a friendly, easygoing, geeky college grad in my early 20s. I'm
into contra and belly dancing, reading (mostly sci fi and fantasy, but
other stuff too) goth clubs, and role playing games. I love pretty
much all animals. I don't smoke. I am bisexual, polyamorous, vaguely
pagan and kinky. It's not necessary that potential roommates share
these traits, but they do need to be respectful and open minded.
Hannah:
(will be moving in soon)
I'm a 25-year-old lab technician, nonsmoker, also easygoing and geeky.
I have an extreme appreciation for goofball humor and silliness. I
draw, and play three instruments (cello, guitar, bass), but I'm
careful not to disturb others. :) I'm also polyamorous and bisexual,
and tolerant of all lifestyles. I'm a fan of cooking, movies, sushi,
going out dancing, and enjoying nature whenever I can---I love
houseplants, but have no experience in caring for them myself, so if
you bring yours in, I'll be very happy! I love DVDs, and have a
Netflix subscription that I'm happy to share.
Puppy Monster:
Puppy Monster is a 1 1/2 year old Keeshond. He weights 40 lbs and is
very fluffy. He is affectionate, playful and gentle. Even people who
normally hate dogs seem to like him. He loves the company of people
and other dogs. He is a good watchdog but is not a
problem barker. His favorite passtimes include chasing balls, getting
belly rubs and giving kisses to anything that will hold still for long
enough.
You:
I'm looking for someone who is responsible, polite and comfortable
with dogs. You also need to be comfortable around people who are
polyamorous, queers of all flavors, and kinky. Friendly people with
interests in common, or with other fascinating hobbies that they like
talking about are especially encouraged. There is absolutely no
smoking of any kind allowed in the house.
Does this sound nice to you? Drop me a line, and we'll see if we're a
good match for each other.
