Wanted: Scrap window glass
Oct. 7th, 2008 08:44 amOne of our plays for our Tomes of Terror Halloween show this year calls for several windows to be broken, so we've built a special device used by live Foley people to safely create that effect. However, we need quite a number of sections of scrap glass to use in it.
Basically, what we need is about 30 sections of a relatively-thin, easily-broken window-type glass. The dimensions of the device will accommodate pieces up to about 11" x 11", but as long as one side is between 8" and 11", it should be fine.
Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Things like old windows, places that sell scrap or cheap glass...anything like that. Better yet, if anyone works with glass and would be willing to cut pieces for our needs, that would be awesome.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks!

Date: 2008-10-07 02:47 pm (UTC)i got some glass from economy back in college for framing/hanging, and even that was real cheap, so i'm sure they have some scrap or screw up pieces.

Date: 2008-10-07 05:20 pm (UTC)Ever since I moved in, there have been some windows up there. I don't drive, so I couldn't get them to you, but if they are something you can use, I can certainly arrange to set a time up with you for you to come get them. I'll go snap a few pictures of them so you can see if they are even something you'd be able to use.
