Hi everyone!
So, we took a few months off over the summer, but we're going to keep on running spaghetti dinners this year. The next one is this Wed. at 730PM and the theme is Citizens & Prisons. We're going to hear from a few people who have run programs that interface with the prison system and hear about their projects and stories. As usual Food Not Bombs will be cooking pasta. Thanks FNB!
You can read more on The Facebook Page (including the list of performers), but I want to keep it short here.
What :: Citizens & Prisons, a sprout spaghetti dinner
When :: Wed. Oct. 20 @ 730PM
Where :: sprout's studios @ 339R Summer St. Somerville
let me know if you have any questions or if you want to get added to the email list!

Date: 2010-10-18 08:21 pm (UTC)The theme for this month's dinner is Citizens & Prisons, looking at a few initiatives started by individuals--as opposed to organizations--that interface with the prison system.
Our performers will include ::
+ Jenny Romaine, a NYC-based performer, won't be able to be with us, but will share a toy theater and video project made with women in the Riker's Island prison.
+ Mako Hill will present a project he developed with Charlie De Tar called _Between the Bars_ <http://betweenthebars.org/>, which is a blogging platform prisoners can use by sending hand-written letters.
+ Mika Matsuzaki, a nutritionist and educator, will share some of her experiences in beginning a nutrition program she is currently running in a local prison.
