Bus rerouting off Highland Avenue
Mar. 9th, 2018 04:39 pmI just called 311 and asked about the bus rerouting while Highland and Cedar is closed:
There will be bus stops on Summer Street, at about the same cross streets as the bus now stops on Highland. The operator said the stops may not be in exactly equivalent places, and she wasn't sure if there will be as many stops as on Highland, but it's not going nonstop around that stretch.
The operator also said that they were going to be putting up signs as things got closer, which will be useful. (I asked the MBTA about this via their website at the beginning of this week, and have had no reply so far.)

Date: 2018-03-16 03:03 pm (UTC)Hello, this is Jackie Rossetti from the City of Somerville with an update about the planned closure of the Cedar St./Highland Ave. intersection.
Due to this week’s snow storm, the start of construction requiring the full closure of the intersection will not occur on Monday, March 19. A new date will be announced in the coming weeks. An announcement will be made 48-72 hours prior to the confirmed start of construction and the intersection closure. In the meantime, please visit www.somervillema.gov/cedarstreet for full detour plans and information in advance.
We apologize for this unforeseen delay, and hope to be able to begin work as soon as weather patterns allow us to safely do so.
