fair trade bananas?

Is there anywhere in the Boston Area to get fair trade bananas now that Harvest Co-op is no more?

("Whole Trade" doesn't count.)

The Lexington Stop & Shop has Equal Exchange fair trade bananas sometimes (bought some today). I don't know if other S&S locations regularly have them.

This drives me nuts! All the places that used to have FT bananas switched to organic. formerly-Foodmaster Stop and Shop up at Clarendon Hill has equal exchange every so often, but not on the regular.

Thank you for suggesting Stop and Shop. It would not have thought to check.

I have now confirmed that the Medford Stop and Shop sometimes carries Fair Trade bananas. When I went there were only a few, which I purchased, compared to a large display for other organic bananas.

Maybe if more people start buying them there they'll start carrying more? I don't know how this works.

I remember noticing when I moved to Somerville that it was *really hard* to find fair-trade bananas. (I mostly get excess (non ft :() bananas from work and rarely buy any myself, but it would be really nice if any of my usual grocery stores carried them.
