can anyone recommend a place to get a formalish type portrait? for my dad's birthday, he wants nice photos of me and my sister, separately or together, and i have no idea where to go. when i was a wee thing we'd go to olan mills (i think it was in sears) for family portraits, but i don't know what the modern equivalent is. but that's what i need. we're mobile so the place doesn't have to be t-accessible.

Many J C Penney stores have photo studios in them. I think they may have bought Olan Mills? They are in a lot of malls (like Solomon Pond, but I know there are more).

It's not quite a "place", but I know Mira Whiting, and she did some portraits for my brother, which were quite nice...

Similar to the previous poster, Meg Moore photographed our wedding lo those many years ago, and my grandmother's 90th birthday party, and we've done portraits with her too: https://www.megpix.com

I've done photos with Meg Moore as well, she's fabulous.

Another mall option is Portrait Simple. I had passport pictures done at the one in Burlington, and they seem nice.
