Summary:
- begins at 10AM Sunday (tomorrow)
- parking on ODD-numbered side only
- no parking on main arteries including Harvard Avenue, College Avenue, and Boston Avenue.

Details:

The City of Medford is declaring a snow emergency to go into effect at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 25.

On secondary roads, parking is allowed on the ODD side of the street only, unless your street has been granted an exemption by the Traffic Commission (see a list at www.medfordma.org/snow). Cars parked on the even side of the street during snow emergencies will be ticketed and towed. On main arteries, there is NO PARKING allowed on either side of the street. There is signage posted on these main arteries, and a full list of streets is below and at www.medfordma.org/snow. If you live on a main artery, you are allowed to park on a secondary road, even if it is permit parking as these restrictions are temporarily lifted during a snow emergency. Once the snow emergency is lifted, parking enforcement will resume as usual.

Trash, recycling, and composting pick up will be canceled on Monday, January 26. Collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

To help us make sure that there are enough on-street parking spaces, if you have access to a driveway, please use those spaces and reserve on-street spaces for others. Please note that using traffic cones or other items to save parking spaces on the street is not allowed and should be brought inside. If cones are on the street, crews will remove them.

As a reminder, per City Ordinance, residents are required to shovel sidewalks abutting your home or business within 8 daylight hours after the end of the storm, or you may be fined.

You can see more information on the snow emergency at www.medfordma.org/snow.

Parking

During snow emergencies, parking on secondary roads is only allowed on the ODD side of the street. This is to allow plows to access the street. Cars parked on the EVEN side will be ticketed and towed during snow emergencies.

During snow emergencies, residents of main arteries can park on secondary roads, even if they are permit-only, as the resident parking regulations are temporarily lifted during emergencies.
