A Thank You....and another fun-time question!

First off, thank you to everyone who gave me hints on where to go bowling (I asked for lane info. a week or 2 ago but was too busy to thank everyone who responded)!

Now I'm in the market for karaoke. I am looking for someplace no more than a 15 min. walk from the Davis through Kendall T-stations, but the closer to Davis the better! My personal karaoke songbook tends to be heavy on the 70s pop songs (think: Time Life's Super 70s or AM Gold infomercials) and I really have a terrible voice so I'm looking for a fun, laid-back atmosphere that is popular (more people = more distraction = less nervous!) and the crowd is around my age (23) or older.

Though it isn't in your requirements for being near the T, the Courtside Bar on Cambridge Street near Lechmere has karaoke every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. It's a lot of fun and you can take either the 87 or 88 from Davis to Lechmere to get there.

And yes, I looked into Courtside but being at the mercy of the T's early-night closings and sadly, trying to convince people to walk with me in the Winter months is going to be an uphill battle in getting there!

I think the karaoke starts at 10:30 upstairs (maybe 10:00). the hosts are awesome and the selection is great.

it is important to get songs in early, as it is popular and crowded (in a good way! and i don't like crowds, so that is saying alot) and they may run out of time for everyone's songs by the end.

Pizzaria Uno's (it's really nota pizza place, as pizza forms SUCH a small part of their menu.). The karaoke is Monday nights in the bar area downstairs.

Courtside's karaoke starts a 9pm, so you can get in a good three and a half hours before the last buses come back to Davis (the last 87 and 88 are schedule to leave Lechmere on weeknights at 1am) Karaoke might end at 1am anyway - I don't remember, it's been a while since I went there.

I'm just a fan of Courtside and don't mind taking the bus; enough liquor can make it not cold when waiting outside... :-)

El Guapo in Ball Square also has Karaoke, not sure if it's cool or not though.
