CITY OF SOMERVILLE Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender Community Liaison
The Mayor's Office is seeking to fill the position of GLBT Community Liaison. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: act as the Mayor's advisor and representative to Somerville's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender communities; represent the Mayor at appropriate meetings and functions; articulate the needs and concerns of the GLBT community to the administration; remain highly visible in the community and ensure effective delivery of constituent services; provide consultation to various City departments; represent the Mayor's Office before various boards and commissions; grant writing; and to perform other duties as required. This is a part-time position (10 hours/week) compensated at $500/month. Qualifications include: strong sense of commitment to and involvement in the GLBT community; community organizing experience; knowledge of various City services helpful; excellent written and verbal communication skills essential. Somerville residency required.
