Compounding pharmacy

Hi,

Can anyone direct me to a local compounding/reformulating pharmacy (not just a dispensary)? The one my vet sent me to is in Lynnfield, which is rather a hike. Driving as such is not a problem.

Skendarians in cambridge does compounding. They need the physical prescription (or a fax directly from the vet) and 24 hours notice. Be advised: Pet medications aren't covered under your health insurance, and unless you've got pet insurance, you're going to pay full price for the meds. Custom compounding just adds to the pain.

If you don't have luck at Skendarians, or if you want to shop around for a better price, try BCP out of Houston TX. They were recommended to me by Porter Sq. Vet. They overnight all orders and have competative rates. Their number is 800-481-1729.

Also, if you have problems pilling, they'll put the medication in cat treats for you.

Yea, I love that they have about 10 different flavors to choose from...my kitty gets tuna-flavored beta blockers every morning :)
