phone wiring

OK, so it looks like I need to rewire from the phone box outside the house to the inside of my house, somehow. I suspect that the very old wire from the box to my dining room is just bad. I'd be happy to pay someone something reasonable to do this -- all the holes are drilled and such, and you probably don't even need a ladder as you should be able to thread stuff using the existing wire. Does anyone local do this, or know someone who would? I've just spent hours doing everything *but* replacing that wire, and I'm tired of wrestling with it. Far more a software kind of grrl than a wiring fan...
