Is the Noam Chomsky sign at Powderhouse Circle gone?

what is/was the point of the sign? Is it pro-Chomsky? anti-Chomsky? Is it because of his politics, his linguistics, his personal hygeine? It's one of those things that i always wonder as I pass it, but forget by the time I am back at a computer.

Just a white sign with a stencil of Noam's face on it. It was on the entrance to Powderhouse Road from the rotary, as if to say "Chomsky ahead".

Are you certain that was Chomsky? I had thought for years that was a portrait of Justice Harry Blackmun, and, when passing it, I always imagined it to be a subtle plug for a woman's right to choose. Having just now done a google image search of both men, I now realize how alike they look, though I'm still sticking with the Justice. Hearing that the portrait's been removed bums me out.
