dear pearson ave/morrison ave residents:

who does this gorgeous kitty belong to?! she (he?) is skinny, and i want to take her home with me! if anyone knows who she belongs to, or if she is in fact a stray, please let me know! i've seen her around here for a while, and it's making me sad that she's in the cold wind.

You could put a collar on her with a tag that says "I would like to claim this cat. If this is your cat, call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX".

Awwwwww, that bike picture is so cute.

Take her home and put up posters with "Found kitty" and pictures on them? It'll be really hard if someone actually claims her though. (and yeah, I always refer to cats as female, since every cat I've ever had has been a girl kitty) :)

Check with the inhabitants of 94 Pearson Avenue #1. I used to live upstairs from them, and Eva, who looks a great deal like the cat in the photo, would frequently make her way into the basement and up the back stairs, where she'd mewl piteously for attention. I can't say I'd be surprised if she made her way out of the house, and while my inclination is to say "If they can't keep her inside, let her stay with someone who can", I suppose they may well want her back.

my friend wanted me to post this for her:

hi. im getting a friend to post this for me because i dont have an LJ and cant comment on this post, but i do keep up
with the davis sq community here. i live on pearson ave and believe the cat belongs to the people who live in the
green house with the wrap around porch on the corner of pearson and kidder. that cat (i think it's a girl) is really sweet,
and i have also been worried about her lately because she seems to always be outside and it's getting cold. she is usually sleeping on one of the porch chairs at that house in the morning
when i walk by. i did notice food and water dishes out for her, so i think she may belong to the people who live there or
they're at least caring for her. Pearson ave is a relatively quiet street, so i assume this cat and others i regularly see outside are outdoor cats rather
than strays, but let me know if you hear anything back because i am concerned for this cat in particular with winter
approaching. i have more to say about this but would rather do so via email if you don't mind posting yours or you can
contact me at rachel@REMOVEgetatme.org.

I once did something similar with a stray, but just put my phone number. I got a call that night from someone asking why his cat had my phone number on it. I explained that I just wanted to make sure he had a home, and the owner was actually delighted, and kept the collar (but changed the phone number.)

I saw a "LOST CAT" poster for a grey-and-white cat while walking along Summer Street yesterday, somewhere between Cedar and Craigie. It seems a little far for a cat to roam, but it's possible the owner was postering a very large area. Hope this helps!

Hey, how is the search going? I would love to know if you find her owners or take her in yourself. Because that is one cute cat and I would hate to think of her out in the cold this weekend when temps are going to be below freezing.

You could also call Porter Sq vet or check out their board (and other local vets and shelters, I suppose) and see if anyone has reported a lost kitty of that description.

But gee whiz she's a cutie!

I love the idea of collaring her with your number. It distresses me to see outdoor kitties sans collars...
