SOMERVILLE--- On Wednesday, January 31, Adam Payne will host the first annual 2007 ‘Kidney Cancer Benefit for Jane’ at the Skybar, located on 518 Somerville Avenue in Somerville, sponsored by the Kidney Cancer Association. For one night, the Skybar will host several of Boston’s hottest bands, all supporting an important cause.

Doors open at 7pm, and the event will go until midnight. The entertainment (featured) will feature 2ADAM12, The Jude Nemo Band and The Kode. There will be raffle prizes, t-shirts and lots of fun. “This event is the first of what I hope to be many more. I lost my mother [Jane] to Kidney Cancer in 2003, and am very passionate about getting the word out about this disease, as it is most often only detectable during the last (terminal) stages,’’ said Adam Payne, singer songwriter of 2ADAM12.

The Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) is a charitable organization composed of patients, family members, physicians, researchers, and other health professionals, and collaborates with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Urologic Association (AUA), and other institutions on research projects. Payne, who is an accomplished musician and songwriter, entertains full crowds with his fusion of Funk, R&B, Folk, and Acoustic. Since 2ADAM12’s inception, they have attracted larger and larger crowds as their fan base grows. They continue their quest to bring their mix of soul, funk, hip/hop & jam-inspired rock n' roll to a wide audience of music lovers.

The Jude Nemo Band is a Boston area singer/songwriter who draws on influences from jazz, folk, rock and electronica, wielding a unique sound through innovative songwriting and intricate guitar work.

The Kode is a "Classic Video Game Band" playing music from Video Game systems of the 80's and 90's. This act is a must-see for all nostalgic Nintendo fans.
