Who are the current and most awesome chiropractors in the area, please? The most recent post here is a year and a half old and who knows what chiropractic insanity has ensued in the meanwhile.

I've never gone to a chiro, so someone who is willing to explain what's happening would be optimal. Oh, and who takes insurance. Thanks!

I went to Amethyst Chiropractic when I lived in Somerville. They're above the passport photo place next to Diesel. They do take insurance. I saw Dr. Mary McGouran (spelling? eh?) but there are other Drs. and a massage therapist in the practice as well. I liked her a lot. Very nice, friendly, accessible and would explain anything you asked about.

I saw Dr. Ronald J. Pellicani at Davis Square Chiropractic on 49 Holland Street, which is basically like right in the Square. I went there over the course of about two years, and still go occasionally. They were super nice and super accessible and took my insurance.

here's another vote for the Amethyst center. I see usually Linda Squires and can only recommend her highly. (She does non-impact chiropractic though so no cracking...)

No, he is really good. The secretary is also a sweetheart, and they handle all the insurance stuff for you. Even if you don't have insurance, it isn't outrageous for routine adjustments. He is very nice. The only downside is, as you can imagine, it can get very busy. But I would say he still keeps to a tight schedule.
