Hi there
I'm looking for a good, thorough, yet reasonable house painter. I live in between Davis and Porter.  Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Coelho Contracting in Medford did a great job for us at a good price, and are super nice. They also do carpentry and masonry so if you need more than just painting...

Just for the record, I've no relationship with them beyond being a satisfied customer.

We're in the process of getting bids for our house and I got recommendations for all of the following:

*Janick Kozak, Boston Painting Co. 781-344-0776
* Joe Copp 603-818-1043 (but spends much of his time in Arlington)
Ed Madeiros, ECM Painting 617 354 6600, 617 471 2726
Tom Sawyer (company name) 781 894 0001 (mixed reviews)
Gus Mousakis, Seven Stars 781 646 6045
Mark Culhane 781 648 3012
Bob Molloy 978 897 0005
Coelho Contracting 781 391 0989
Marcos Vinicius, Paint Pro 617 372 1670
Jamie Walker, Walker Painting 781 648 3958
Burigo's 617 629 2666
James Cennamo 978 930 0315
Almedin Katadzic, AK Pro Painting 617 913 5286
Gilbert Carey 781 396 2584, 617 365 0446

The bids we've gotten have varied widely--the highest was more than twice the lowest--and there is significant variation in how the different painters plan to do the project. So it is very much worth getting at least a few bids.

Rick Orcutt, Orcutt painting orcuttpainting at rcn.com.

We just had our stairwell done by them in Medford, they did a good job in less time than they said. Rick was very knowledgeable, and even gave us some advice on the painting inside our rental unit that we were doing ourselves. The price was good and we're happy with the results.

I got the name form Angie's list (www.angieslist.com), which might be a good spot for you to do some research too.

this post is ancient, but i'm wondering who you ended up going with for your housepainting, and how it turned out?

thanks
Emily

We went with James Cennamo (978 930 0315). His bid was much lower than anyone else's, but he was pleasant to work with and the job is holding up well so far!
