Life Drawing, beginning drawing, and silkscreening clasees join the already ongoing Improv practice this July at Willoughby and Baltic. Life drawing is also open to those who do not want instruction, but will no longer be held on a drop-in basis (you must sign up in advance).
Also, this week: Shawn Levesque and Sierra play from 6-8 on Thursday in Artist Alley. At 8:45 on Thursday we continue our free movies with a sock puppet film noir. And our annual print sale is still going on until the end of next week.
For a more complete schedule, see our summer newsletter here.
Oh, and don't forget that tonight is the last night for Macbeth auditions. Show up from 7-9 with some Shakespeare to try out for the Lallygagging Players production to be performed in August.

Date: 2007-06-20 12:05 am (UTC)The performances will be free and open to the public. We hope this will give people and opportunity to see Macbeth who might not have otherwise been able to experience a work by Shakespeare.
For the acting community, we also are the hosts of the YESandPractice! improv practice group that meets on Sundays from 4-6:30pm. This is also a free group where different directors host the sessions. Actors are invited to drop in when they need a practice session.
Willoughby and Baltic also hires voice actors from time to time to voice the parts of the puppets in our marionette productions. We produce both adult and children's puppet shows.

Life Drawing
This class is designed to provide students at any level with a non-competitive environment in which to develop drawing skills, expand visual perception, and experiment with media and technique. Our emphasis is on building an intuitive response to the figure while striving to sharpen awareness of proportion, light, and the inherent beauty of marks, smudges, lines, and tones. Through class discussion we will try to identify what gives a drawing its spirit. This class is also open to artists who would like to draw from a model but prefer no instruction. Bring charcoal pencils, compressed charcoal, kneaded eraser, and an 18 x 24 pad to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed in class. Limited to 15.
