Anyone know of any dairies that provide milk delivery service to Somerville? Or stores that carry local milk? Non-homogenized would be ideal. Crescent Ridge Dairy sounds great, but they don’t deliver to Somerville...

wow, that delivery map is hilarious in its' non-'ville-ness. Perhaps if we found enough volunteers, they would expand a Medford or Cambridge route.

I don't, but I agree with you that it's crazy Crescent Ridge doesn't deliver to Somerville as it delivers to Boston, Arlington, Cambridge and Medford.

I've taken to getting local milk every few months when I'm out near a place that sells it themselves. Also I buy from the dairy that runs the ice cream shop at the Jordan's Furniture at Stoneham. (This lets me say "I'm going to the furniture store to get milk" which amuses me.)

Wilson Farm (http://wilsonfarm.com/) in Lexington sells milk from Shaw Farm (http://www.shawfarm.com/) in Dracut.

the real question...

Man, would I love to have fresh farm milk delivered to my door in the 'Ville. But what I'd *really* go nuts for is a hookup with raw milk. All the "raw milk clubs" I see around here seem damned complicated to get in on. It's a damned shame when I could lay my hands on virtually any drug in quicker time than it would take to find some raw milk!

I'd call them and ask if they would consider adding your address in Somerville, given that it's right between all the other towns they do deliver to.

Shaw Farm milk is really delicious - it's very noticeable! Their website lists locations.

I tried this a while back. It didn't work.

Maybe if a bunch of us got together. .

Maybe if a bunch of people got together and signed up as a group, they'd be willing. God, milk and dairy delivery sounds awesome.

Hood delivers to Somerville. They have much more than just milk, including lots of organic products. When my daughter was a toddler having milk delivered to my door saved me from heading constantly to the grocery store.

The milkman's name is Rick Strong, and he is very accomodating. You can call him personally at 1-888-645-5663 ext. 89*

I'm planning to do a raw milk run some time in the coming two weekends. Want me to pick some up for you? You'd have to pick it up from my place in Arlington near the Stop & Shop.

Not sure if I'm going to make a post to this community about it.

Hey, I know this is an old post but was wondering whether you ever found a source for local milk in the area. I did send an email to Crescent Ridge asking them to consider adding delivery to Somerville, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I would really love to buy fresh local milk but with my schedule I just can't manage going out of my way (like to Lexington for Wilson Farm) to get it. Anyway, just wondering if you ever found anything?
