Liquor stores are open until varying times..you should be able to get beer...as long as you're over 21..with a valid ID of course.

anywhere that sels beer the rest of th week sells it on sundays now. Some places just may close early- 6 or 7 pm. Im pretty sure Downtown wine & spirits is open late, and really, thats the best place ANYWHERE to buy beer so you dont even need to consider other options.

The same place you'd buy it any other day. I don't really understand the question.

Ron, surely you remember what the blue laws were like just a few years ago.

Weren't they repealed at least nine years ago? Feels that way, at least.

December 2003. But there were patchwork exceptions before that: you could buy booze from stores within 10 miles of the New Hampshire border, and (IIRC) you could buy alcohol at bars and restaurants, but not until after noon (I vividly remember being denied a mimosa... for ten minutes). During December you could also buy booze from package stores on Sundays, IIRC, depending on what day the holiday(s) actually fell on.

I can tell you that MA's blue laws couldn't compare with Louisiana's blue laws in in the 1980s. On Sundays you could buy hammers but not nails, paint brushes but not paint (or maybe vice versa), etc. It was nutty.

I think there's still an 11 am rule for bars and restaurants on Sundays, but I'm not positive about it.

Where can you buy beer on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday?

Well that explains things for me! I only just learned this year that blue laws had been repealed, and couldn't for the life me figure out how I'd missed this important even. But I was out of the country from August '03 to April '04! Thank you for clearing up a random little mystery of my life. =)

I failed to buy wine at Harvest this morning at 11:30. They said I couldn't buy it until noon.

I recommend the Bukowski's near Inman Square.

No it isn't. When I lived on Winter Hill, I was near two liquor stores, and both were open from noon to six or seven on Sundays.

Clearly, Ron, you don't drink enough.

They need to put the hours on their website. If they are up, I couldn't find them.

Heh...I meant posted in their window, although it's odd they're not up on the site. I walked by there at eight on a Sunday a few weeks ago and did a double-take because I've never seen a packy open that late on a Sunday. I looked in the window and it stated their hours were noon to eleven.

Ball Square Wines is open noon to 8:00 PM on Sundays. Good selection of micro-brews there.

Just be real careful on Thanksgiving
